Psalm 1 - The Godly Man

Verse 1

The word “Blessed” in Psalm 1:1 means happiness or blessedness. Indeed, happy is the man who does not walk in the advice or the way of the ungodly.

Verse 2

Our delight and pleasure ought to be in the Word of God and we ought to meditate on the Word of God day and night.

Verse 3

As we abide in Christ and in His Word, we will bear much fruit. God will bless the works of our hands.

Verse 4

The ungodly are not like the righteous. They do not abide in Christ, who is the true vine. And they are cast out as a branch and are withered and will be cast into everlasting fire. They are like worthless chaff.

Verse 5

The ungodly will not be able to withstand during the Day of Judgement and will be cast away forever from the presence of the righteous.

Verse 6

The Lord approves and delights in the way of the righteous. But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
